ABOUT STAND AGAINST RACISM

Stand Against Racism is an annual campaign of YWCA's across the nation, designed to build community among those who work for racial justice and raise awareness about the impact of institutional and structural racism. This annual campaign provides the opportunity for communities across the United States to find an issue or cause that inspires them to take a stand against racism, and to unite our voices to educate, advocate, and promote racial justice.

Our focus this year on racism as a public health crisis is particularly timely as our nation grapples with the dual crises of the COVID-19 pandemic and racial injustice. Understanding and addressing systemic racism from a public health perspective is crucial to eliminating racial and ethnic inequities, and to improving opportunity and well-being across communities.

Proceeds from STAND AGAINST RACISM help fund YWCA advocacy programs: Talk On Race, Talk On Health, 21 Day Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge, Potluck for Peace, What's Wrong With Different?, and Week Without Violence.

Each share, tweet, and email helps us spread the word about YWCA Lower Cape Fear.
